Resources and Information to Make Your Celebrations a Success

We welcome all families and kids to celebrate Children’s Book Week (May 1-7 and Nov. 6-12) at home. Children’s Book Week is not only a celebration of books but of connection. It is a vehicle to unite kids and adults with books, authors, and illustrators in order to foster a love of reading in all.

Free Resources for 2023

  • Official Poster, by Rilla Alexander, with activities in English and Spanish.
  • Exclusive bookmarks with activities by children’s book superstars Alfreda Beartrack-Algeo, Lian Cho, K. O’Neill, JeyOdin, and Briana Mukodiri Uchendu.
  • Drawing along instructions. No printer is needed for these fun drawing lessons by amazing book creators.
  • Find Your Spark Challenge. Kids of all ages can participate on their own, with adults, or in groups to explore their spark.
  • Educator Kit (coming fall 2023).

Participate in the Find Your Spark Challenge and share your Sparks with us using #ReadBooksSparkChange in your post and tag The Children’s Book Council. Promote your virtual and in-person events with your network and share with us to help amplify through our channels.
