EVERY CHILD A READER believes introducing children to the magic of reading is hero’s work. We support a diverse network of heroes — including educators, caregivers, librarians, and booksellers — by connecting book creators with communities, providing literacy tools and resources, and championing young people’s voices.
We do this through a variety of fun, free, and engaging programs:
Children's Book Week
The twice annual celebration of reading and books for young people since 1919.
Get Caught Reading
A year-round national poster campaign featuring book creators, athletes, artists, and public figures caught reading their favorite book.
National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature
Listening and empowering kids nationwide to connect with their communities by talking about books
Anna Dewdney Read Together Award
Annual picture book award for superb read-alouds that also spark compassion, empathy, and connection.
Support our reading programs to help reach kids in schools, libraries, and homes in rural, suburban and urban communities across the country.
