#BookWeek2020atHome: Celebrating Virtually this Spring
Children’s Book Week is not only a celebration of books, but of connection. It is a vehicle to unite kids and adults with books, authors, and illustrators in order to foster a love of reading in all.
With this in mind, we encourage you to celebrate with us online and at home May 4-10 this year.
We encourage all locations to do whatever they are able to celebrate with their communities. Need some inspiration?
Take a look at our ideas for virtual events and ways to connect with your community. And share our at-home celebration ideas through your channels.

Children’s & Teen Choice Book Awards: Voting Open this Fall
The Children’s & Teen Choice Book Awards are the only national book awards voted on only by kids and teens. Launched in 2008 by the Children’s Book Council and Every Child a Reader, the awards provide young readers with an opportunity to voice their opinions about the books being written for them.
Learn about this year’s finalists and turn your school library into a polling station for young readers:
You can use our ballots (K-2nd Grade, 3rd-4th Grade, 5th-6th Grade, Teen) to collect votes from your kids. Tally and enter these votes in our group ballot. Also, enjoy the multiple activities we’ve prepared by grade in your (virtual) classroom or media center.
