We welcome all schools, libraries, bookstores, and other locations working with young people, to join in the fun during Children’s Book Week (May 3-9 and Nov. 8-14).
Children’s Book Week is not only a celebration of books, but of connection. It is a vehicle to unite kids and adults with books, authors, and illustrators in order to foster a love of reading in all.
There are many ways that groups can join in the fun. Start making your plans now with our free resources and suggestions!
We encourage all locations to do whatever they are able to celebrate with their communities. Need some inspiration? Check out these ideas for virtual events and community engagement.
Adults can get in on the action too by sharing superpowers and promoting public virtual events. What is your school’s, library’s, or bookstore’s superpower? What about the principal, children’s librarian, or bookstore owner/employees. We would love to see via social media. Make sure to use #BookWeekSuperpower in your post and tag The Children’s Book Council.
